Whilst
free standing furniture is the main body of my work, I often take on commissions
for bespoke fitted furniture and kitchens. For the client the advantages
are many as every single detail can be discussed and considered; each
joint, handle or moulding individually designed, the spectrum of possibility
is infinite. Even the best specialist kitchen companies work from a selection
of predesigned shapes, and nothing in their work is truly unique.
I approach the work with the same attention to detail and quality as I
do in my cabinet making, and consequently the results are of a standard
rarely seen in kitchens. From a personal standpoint I really enjoy designing
what amounts to a whole interior, balancing the considerations of function,
visual harmony and strength through attention to proportion, colour and
fine materials. |
