Architecture has throughout history provided inspiration for detailing furniture.
Classical architecture and stately buildings continue to provide designers,
such
as David Linley, with material to decorate their work.
With these pieces I use the buildings I grew up around to lead their form.
Corporation tower blocks, terraced housing and motorway flyovers have a
beauty of their own, that when combined with classical cabinet making
techniques tickle me with their irreverence.
The humour in this series of pieces softens the more serious messages about
poverty, class and housing.
